Poppy Bay fused glass freestanding wave
Combining two of my favourite things..... poppies and the beach! This hand-made fused glass wave reminds me of cliff side walks overlooking the sea!
I have created this glass art wave by fusing dots of red glass on to some green green grass. I have added cobalt blue glass for the sea, amber and cream for the beach and turquoise blue skies with seagulls wheeling in the distance.
Then I fire the glass a second time in my glass kiln, so that it slumps down into a mould to create the 'wave' shape.
I think that this poppy bay wave looks great on a window sill, so the sunlight can bounce through the glass, but it also looks beautiful on a simple shelf or mantlepiece. If you place candles or fairy lights behind the glass, the light shines through and reflects the colours of the glass.
Your fused glass poppy bay wave is hand-made, so may vary slightly from the photo.
If you like this design but would prefer different colour flowers, please message me to discuss other colour combinations.
Your hand-made fused glass wave measures approximately 22cm wide by 7cm high.
Your fused glass will be placed in an organza gift bag. I will also carefully bubble wrap your fused glass and it will come posted in a cardboard box to ensure it's safe delivery. If you would like to send this wave as a gift, please let me know and I can post it directly to the recipient, along with a message of your choice.
I have created all of my fused glass art by hand in my studio in East Sussex, England. Every piece is unique and individual and no two pieces ever look identical. Your glass will look very similar to the piece in the photographs, although not exactly the same. This is because the glass is heated to 800 degrees in my glass kiln in order for it to fuse together. During this process, some of the small pieces of glass may move around slightly. I think that this is one of the joys of hand-made pieces, so I hope that you will embrace these little differences, as much as I do.
